Having always been interested in the human body and the way it works, Gaia began her journey with the study of Swedish massage. She attended the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts and was awarded her massage therapy diploma in 1997. Fresh out of school, she opened a successful practice.
Gaia soon realized that massage and working the tissue was not enough, so she began to search for more tools to gain access to the holistic being, the body and mind. She studied systems including La Stone Therapy, Crystal Light Therapy, Integrated Energy Therapy, Reiki, Marconic Energy Healing, Ortho-Bionomy and Thai massage.
The big “ah-ha” moment came with the discovery of sound! Gaia had the opportunity to study with Tom Kenyon and Jonathan Goldman, which forever impacted her direction in bodywork. Gaia has since continued her studies with shamanic drumming, different tuning fork systems like Acutonics, crystal bowls, Tibetan metal bowls, gongs and the practice of mantra.
Creating Complete Healing Experiences
In her 24 years of experience, she feels that utilizing sound in treatments created an opportunity for clients to release right down to the cellular level. The application of crystal singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, etc. proved to be successful tools in assisting in complete healing experiences for most clients.
Shannon began the study of sound and music at the age of eleven. To him the most fascinating aspect of music was feeling the subtle sounds and the frequencies that coexisted within these sounds. Throughout his adulthood he continued his love for music through the study of wind instruments, electronic and stringed instruments. Since being very athletic and having a natural curiosity, Shannon became intrigued with the human body and its relationship to gravity and subtle forces animated it.
In 1980 Shannon discovered an art called Aikido (the way of harmony). It’s a Japanese martial art created to facilitate harmony with mankind and nature..
He continued to train in Aikido and other traditional life giving martial arts, preceding to then open his own dojo ( A sacred place to practice the way ) in 1999. Since the year 2000, Sensei Reitan (as he is known in Aikido circles) has studied and incorporated into his teachings of Aikido and healing practices, brain wave training, energy healing, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, tuning forks, toning, and working crystal grids. He also practiced and taught Reiki at the master level in 3 different systems. He then began teaching spiritual awakening and awareness classes which were based on finding the connection with source energy within Ones Self. He has continued to facilitate mediation classes and teaching his students how to understand and feel subtle energies in and around the body.
On a Quest for Greater Self Development
In a quest for more personal development he added yoga to his daily life. In 2011 he attended yoga teacher training and began incorporating and teaching yoga. He felt this offered a more balanced and well-rounded approach to achieving harmony in his teachings. In his approach to healing he feels that by adding sound, light and movement individuals can access healing on all levels and in doing so, physical and emotional clearing can integrate simultaneously.
The Sun’s Frequency
In 1999 Shannon began teaching a powerful meditation program, a week into the program he began to see what appeared to be the sun in is inner vision, What he saw was a very bright spherical light which maintained its brightness and integrity with eyes open or closed, this light maintained itself for over a year then slowly vanished, he used to joke that he could copy the sun’s frequency and use it for healing, today this feels like a reality as the name Shannon (central sun) has integrated into Shannon’s energy field. Shannon has also discovered that the numerology of his full name and birth date is a 3393. Shannon with the same date is also 3393, in short, it fits perfectly and feels quite right.
